I’m enrolled in RCIA but I’ve never been Baptized, yet. Would me wearing a crucifix be an affront or is it acceptable at this point?

Totally acceptable! If you believe that Jesus died for your sins then it is 100% appropriate to wear the crucifix as a sign of your belief, even if you are not yet baptized. And that is fantastic news that you’re exploring the faith through RCIA. Let me know if there is anything I can do, if you’ve got questions or whatever. Feel free to message me privately by email if you like (go to the ‘Contact’ tab on the home page).

It could be instructive to inform the readers, that this is not some “issue” that Protestants were the first to observe. The Second Council of Nicea, (787 AD) in which over 300 Bishops were present, stated in no uncertain terms, that holy images were not only permissible, but that they should be displayed in churches, on vestments, in houses and on public ways.
